Formed in 1991, The Posse has built a legacy as one of Texas' premier southern country rock bands, known for their upbeat shows and classic two-steppin' sound. Based in Houston, The Posse has earned numerous achievements over their career, including winning #1 Band of the Decade twice for Houston, a total of 12 major awards, and being named CMA of Texas #1 Band of Texas in 2017. That same year, frontman Britt was inducted into the CMA of Texas Hall of Fame, followed by the band's induction into the South Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in 2020.
The Posse has celebrated success on both the Texas and national charts, with their 2021 single "Long Gone" reaching #17 on the CDX Nashville National Charts. Their 2024 release, "Company I Keep," made strong returns across the Texas Music Charts, Internet Charts, and Americana Charts, landing Top Ten on TIRC and TIRC-AM, and Top 75 on the Texas Radio Charts.
Throughout their career, The Posse toured with Johnny Lee for four years and backed up Doug Supernaw for a decade, performing across Texas and nationwide. They have opened for some of country music's biggest names, including George Strait, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr., Clint Black, Vince Gill, Kenny Chesney, Travis Tritt, and Jason Aldean. The band has also shared the stage with Wayne Toups, the Bellamy Brothers, John Conlee, Mickey Gilley, Johnny Rodriguez, Ray Price, David Allan Coe, and Hank Williams III. Big Papa Thump, has also had the honor of singing "Can't You See" live with the Marshall Tucker Band.
